Jacob,

The people who made this ad were geniuses and must have had some insight in the community ! They got everything down pat especially the scene when they are putting up the posters.

Imagine making a commercial based on charedeim/chassidim rioting.

Brilliant !

wow.

i'm not hhareidi or hhasidic at all, but it still looks offensive (or at least exploitative) to me

MM: It is pretty smart. Thanks again for the hat-tip.

Steg: Ah, maybe it is maybe it isn't.

If the Chareidim don't like this ad then they can organize a boycott of Yes.

Wait a second... they already have 100% ban on TV. I guess there isn't much that they can do.

I thought the ad was both wicked and saucy.

Gee, that's precisely what they did and now this wonderful ad is off the air.

I neither think it's offensive or exploitative. One form of humor, as we all know, is to caricaturize. This is especially when it's cross-cultural humor. For example the song YMCA has been almost an anthem for the gay community. Although YMCA is used in this video, I don't think it is used to offend the gays, or the chasidim/haredim. I just think it is funny.

I LOVED the ad!

People who are offended by it should "lighten up" and learn to laugh at themselves!

In my family, everyone laughed at each other all the time. We learned early on that it's good to laugh at ourselves.

After all, we all do funny things.

The ad was super creative and... well... have you seen some of the ads that are posted around Meah She'arim??? It's not like the ad-creators had to stretch their imaginations too far to make that stuff up!

There is plenty of real anti-semitism around, including real anti-chasidic/anti-chareidi stuff.

This ad was just plain funny!

No need to "look for offense"
