I'm sure everyone read all about the Mumbai attacks.
They affected me more profoundly, more viscerally than before than any other terrorist attacks before.
Maybe its because I have an affinity for Chabad. I learned in a Chabad school for a short time in Israel ( don't remember the name) where we did lots of Farbragens. I also had a learning session for a year or so learning Sichos and Tanya at age 14 or so.
Maybe its because they attacked people who are just good, just trying to welcome others into their home which angered me immensely.
Every movement has its detractors and Chabad is no different. But there is something about the Shlichim which is selfless. Wherever you go, there is a Chabad House. All are welcome there.
Being connected to various social networks was crucial. I followed Chaims Rubin's blog and Twitter avidly which kept me up to date and felt much more involved.

Something about Chabad... one might disagree with some of what they teach, but their warmth is powerful. These shlichim go all around the world to provide a warm place for traveling Jews.
Some say living in Israel is dangerous...the truth is, being a Jew is dangerous. But that's who we are.
As much as we tease Lubavitch, when they come gunning for Jews, all has always remained the same. To a non Jew, there are no sects. Only violence
Chabad was thinking of putting one location in tehran, not sure if they are going to go through with it.
As a Lubavitcher and a shliach of the Rebbe. I want everyone here to know that it fills me with joy to hear the kind words said about all the hard work the Shluchim do around the world. I want everyone to know that this will not be the end of Chabad in India i promise with everything we have, by next year we will have 5 Chabad houses in Mubai and 45 the next year. TEHRAN here we come. If there is just one JEW there will be a Chabad. Like all of you said whatever you fell about Chabad you can't deny the true love we have for EVERY JEW!! tHAT IS WHY MY HEART IS SO BROKEN OVER THIS SITUATIOMN.
